The turntable has long been the standard solution in carriage construction. While reliable, this system requires regular maintenance: it needs lubrication, and if neglected, play can develop. At Koetsenbouw de Laat, we strive for maximum driving experience with minimal maintenance. That’s why we have developed a robust alternative that completely eliminates the need for a turntable.
Smart design with bearings
Our new steering system uses two large bearings, similar to the wheel bearings of a truck. Thanks to a clever construction, the undercarriage rotates smoothly and in a controlled manner. The system is fully enclosed, making it maintenance-free. The combination of carefully selected materials ensures that the system is both durable and reliable. The rear steering system remains unchanged, so the familiar driving feel is retained.
